This university was inaugurated on June 16, 1983 under the Act of Nomistic Assembly. This university has awarded by the National Accreditation and Assessment council with the grade of ‘B+’. Guru Ghasidas university is a member of the Association of Indian Universities, Association of commonwealth universities. The university is situated a fully developed area with socially and economically. This university covers all the related effects of higher education.
The guru Ghasidas university has several university testing departments. The University has 125 affiliated colleges. All the colleges have a residential cum affiliating facility. This university provided undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs with many departments. University have faculty of these departments are Science, Arts, Social Science, Life Science, Engineering, Education, Management & commerce, Medical Science, Physical Science, Natural Science, Forestry.
