This university started its functioning on August 3, 2004 and inaugurated by the government of Maharashtra. There are a lot of colleges which are affiliated with this university. The current vice chancellor of this university is Babasaheb Baandgar. The university has 61 affiliated colleges .This university is recognized by the University Grant Commission.
The university provided the undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in many departments. The department name are Arts, Science, Commerce, Social Science, Law, Management, Engineering, Technology and many more. The university campus is spread over an area of 38.5 acres. Some other postgraduate departments are Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Geology, Ancient Indian History Culture and Archeology. The university is poised for an ambitious growth. The University is now a hub of various academic activities.
